Google Groups

Google Groups is a method of creating a “shared email inbox” on a Google Workspace. It will be assigned an email address.

This can be used to dynamic manage people on the “mailing list”, for example church ministries or church camp committees.

Important - When creating a new Google Group always ensure that External people can “post” to the group's email address.

Sending emails on behalf of the group is a bit more tricky…

Internal users - Can “Send as” the group email address via Gmail's “Send mail as” feature once verification link has been accepted (as per usual)

External users - Cannot do the above. Either create them their own internal user account (at which point they might as well log in as that user), or create a “shared” internal account that they can configure via STMP of.
